Hygrophila Pinnatifida (potted) 羽裂水蓑衣 / 圣甲虫 (盆装）

ygrophila pinnatifida originates from India. It obtains brown,  patched leaves on the surface with a distinctive burgundy colour  underneath. It creates horizontal side shoots and the top shoots should  be pinched out in order to maintain compact and attractive growth. The  horizontal side shoots easily attach to both wood and rocks. Growth is  moderate, stems 15-40 cm tall and 10-20 cm wide, and the colour is  attractive when planted in small groups with a plain background. Intense  lighting ensures compact growth due to the plant's slow to medium  growth rate.

原產於印度的勒德納吉里(Ratnagiri) 地區，雖然是一種濕生植物，惟在水中亦可培育成美麗的水草。其長像與鋸齒紫柳（Staurogyne sp.  ''bihar''）的水中草十分相似，但二者為不同的植物。水上草與水中草同型，都具有十字對生的倒披針形的大齒狀裂葉，莖綠至紅褐色，植物體硬挺，尤其是水上草。水上葉黃綠至橄欖綠，但頂芽偶而會泛紅；中脈通常呈紅色，葉緣略有皺折。水中葉會變得比較狹長一些，較薄，顏色多變，可呈鮮綠、黃綠或橙紅等色，主要依光度、水質及養分而定。草姿優雅美麗，栽培並不困難，頗受一般草友的喜愛。栽培期間最好能輸入二氧化碳，並給予較強的光照，以及少施氮、磷肥，才易於展現豔麗的色彩。
